Luna and Ginny were meant to be decorating, but it stopped being productive quickly. Tinsel slipped from Luna's hands and wrapped around Ginny's wrist.
An ornament rolled, then another, and soon half the box spilled across the floor. Ginny laughed first, sharp and helpless.
Luna laughed longer, breathless, like she had discovered a secret. They tried to stand. They failed, sliding down the wall instead.
They ended up on the ground, tangled in lights. Pine needles clung to jumpers. Bells rang whenever they moved.
The room looked wrecked. They stayed there, laughing, glowing, and completely finished.
