The snow had finally stopped falling, and as a belated apology, Mother Nature had seen fit to let a bright sun bless the metropolis with its golden light and warmth.
The day was so tempting I foreswore my comfortable armchair and cosy fire and went out for a walk.
I was crossing Regent’s Park when suddenly—
Thwack!
I was hit with a burst of snow. I looked for the source and spotted him at once.
“Sorry, Doctor Watson.”
Laughter behind me told me of my assailant’s intended targets.
They were some of Holmes’s Irregulars.
I bent, scooped, and returned fire.
