Summary: Parker dragged Hardison to the mall. They’re gonna be coming in hot, so Eliot’s got to be ready.

“Whatever you’re doing, that smells amazing,” Breanna called out as she plopped down at the bar with her laptop.
“Gingerbread,” Eliot replied. He tested the center of the loaf—almost done but not quite—then shut the oven door.
“What, like little cookie people? Those always kind of creep me out.”
Eliot could practically hear Breanna wrinkling her nose. He peeked out of the kitchen, and … yup. She was. He ducked back into the kitchen before she looked his way.
“What? No. Real gingerbread, made into a layer cake.” Privately, Eliot agreed with the kid, though. Who the hell thought making cookies look like people was a good idea?
“Cool. So, is this just dessert or something special?”
Eliot stepped into the doorway this time, leaning against it and crossing his arms.
“Have you seen how Parker gets about Christmas?”
“Yeah.”
“You realize she dragged your brother to the mall?”
Breanna’s eyes swallowed up half her face.
“Um, should I be mixing up some hot buttered rum or something?” she asked.
“Probably not the worst idea.”
Breanna closed her laptop and climbed behind the bar, clinking bottles together as she searched for the rum that probably wasn’t even there.
Eliot chuckled as he went back into the kitchen and opened the oven again. This time it was done. He pulled it out and set it to cool as he got started on dinner. Parker was going to be absolutely manic. Hardison was going to be wearing that long-suffering, besotted face of his.
Eliot smiled. It was going to be an awesome dinner.
