The holiday party had reached the stage where Ross was in an informative mood.
"There are some people who've posited the theory that the word 'mistletoe' is Old English for 'dung on a twig'," he was busily regaling Chandler. "But nobody's entirely sure. The 'toe' part does come from 'tān', which means 'twig'. As for 'mistle', that one's up for grabs."
"Dung on a twig, huh," Chandler muttered, having tuned out everything that came after. "I don't know about anybody else here, but that sure puts me in a kissing mood. Who's up for a crap-scented lip-lock?"
