Chandler eyed the object that he'd helped Monica unwrap. A mixture of suspicion and befuddlement marked his face. Glancing at his girlfriend, he strongly suspected that their faces were mirror-images of each other.
"This is...uh...nice, Joey," he said at last. "But what is it?"
"Looks like the biggest pair of granny panties I've ever seen," Monica muttered under her breath.
They did, at that. Much too large for either of them, they were a bright red, trimmed in green. On one side, Naughty was embroidered in gold-colored thread. On the other, similarly embroidered, was the word Nice.
"They're sexy underwear," Joey announced, bouncing in place. He gave the couple a broad wink that nobody could ever call subtle. "For...you know..." Leaning over, he gave Monica a suggestive nudge.
"Okaaayyyy," Monica murmured. Taking the item from Chandler, she meticulously reboxed it. "It's the thought that counts. Luckily."
"I can't believe you," Chandler agreed, feeling his cheeks go warm. "Thanks for the thought, Joe, but we don't need any wild underwear for...canoodling purposes."
"Well, if you don't want 'em, I'll take 'em," Joey stated, looking far less disappointed than anyone who's just had someone reject their Christmas present should look.
Monica all but shoved the box into Joey's arms. "Please do!"
