My heart is filled with such awful self-doubt
For how can I dream of writing about
Something that I, a Celtic girl, so little know
How in the world am I possibly to go
About this without even making making
Mistakes--is the chance worth taking
The subject is a foreign one to me
But missing a day I'd hate to ever see
Forgive this awful, feeble, half-assed try
To acknowledge the Kwanzaa prompt; for I
Fear I would be culturally misappropriating
Something I might not have the right to be contemplating
I'm sorry that I could do no better than this
But I fear that any other attempt would go amiss
