Title: 'Just A Smidge'
Fandom: Original Fiction
Characters: Original
Rating: G
Walking through Doris' kitchen, something immediately hit my eye.
There was a mug painted to look like Christmas lights. One next to it had been molded to look like the stereotypical "ugly" sweater. Another one was actually wearing an ugly sweater. Then there was the set of eight all done up like reindeer, with a larger one behind it that vaguely resembled a sleigh.
In her cabinets, I saw porcelain mugs that bore resemblances to nutcrackers, chestnuts, ornaments, stockings, a sack of coal, another sack of toys...
"Are we maybe a little obsessed," I asked, turning to face a sheepish Doris.
She grinned and shrugged. "Maybe just a smidge," she weakly replied.
I held up the one that had carol lyrics printed all over it. "A smidge? What about this is a smidge to you," I laughingly wondered.
"Yeah, like you never got hooked enough on something to collect it."
