Title: 'One Thing I Know'
Fandom: The Monkees
Characters: Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz, Mike Nesmith, Peter Tork
Rating: G
Notes: Crossposted to beattheblackdog on LiveJournal for Challenge #141: Beach
"I can't believe that Christmas is over already," Davy remarked, carefully picking tinsel off of the tiny tree that had served the quartet well over the holidays.
"Man, you said it," Micky sighed, taking the ornaments off. He frowned pensively. "Is it just me, or did it take longer for Christmastime to get here as a kid?"
Mike chuckled a little, carefully setting their stockings in a cardboard box for storage for the next year. "I think you got a point, there, Mick," he agreed. "Seems like time's passin' faster now that I'm an adult. Don't know how, though."
"One thing I know for certain," Peter put in, "is to never take candy canes out to the beach!" He stared, chagrinned, at one of the last of the candy canes. Half-eaten, it was encrusted with grit. "I hope sand fleas like peppermint."
