"Merry Christmas," the Doctor cheered from the other side of the bars. "I come bearing gifts!"
He did, at that. Clad in a Santa Claus suit, he was weighted down by an enormous pile of Christmas presents. Each was wrapped in gleaming paper, festooned with gigantic bows. It looked like he'd gone to a great deal of work.
"Oh, sweetie, you didn't have to do that," River grinned. She looked him over, winking slyly. "What's under that suit is all the present I need."
He grinned back for a moment...before the implications struck him. Then, cheeks flushing a bright pink, he nervously shoved the gifts through the bars of River's cell, beating a hasty retreat to the relative safety of the TARDIS.
