"Let's all go caroling," Davy announced out of the blue one early December evening.

Peter beamed, drawn to the idea. "That sounds like fun!"

"Yeah; sure. Why not," Micky was quick to agree.

"Now, hold it, guys," Mike cut in as the others all started throwing on coats to keep them warm against the chill that was coming in from the ocean. "I'm all for Christmas cheer, but it's only December second! Won't people think we're nuts?"

"We might get a gig out of it," Davy pointed out with a cheeky smile.

And that's how the ordinarily stoic Mike found himself garbed like a character out of a Dickens novel, going door to door singing Christmas carols.
