Prompt: Dec 14 Christmas spa
Notes: This is part of an Omegaverse AU where Hoseok is an aromatherapist who works at the Bangtan Centre for Holistic Healing (run by Namjoon. Jimin, V, Jungkook, and Jimin work there). Yoongi is a very successful music producer (and former client of Hoseok).
Summary: Hoseok's getting a holiday bonus, but he isn't happy about it.
“So let me see if I understand,” said Yoongi was he rubbed Hoseok’s feet, which were in his lap. “You’re upset you’re getting a holiday bonus which you didn’t think you were getting?”
“The rumor was that there weren’t going to be any holiday bonuses this year because of all the problems Namjoon has had simply keeping the Centre open. All the repairs. That legal nonsense about the zoning. More competition and just the cost of everything going up. Namjoon never said anything, of course, but I’ve never seen him look so worried.”
Yoongi nodded.
“But at today’s staff meeting, everyone thought there’d be bad news, but there wasn’t. We are all getting holiday bonuses.”
“So what’s with that sad face?”
“What if Namjoon sold the Centre? What if he’s waiting until after the New Year to tell us?”
“Oh, Sunshine.”
“I love my job. And the Bangtan Centre of Holistic Healing has helped so many people. I don’t want to work for anyone but Namjoon. He wouldn’t tell us now because he doesn’t want to spoil our holiday but…”
“What if you’ve got it all wrong?” suggested Yoongi gently.
“Maybe. I am afraid to ask Namjoon. I am afraid of what he’ll say.”
Yoongi sighed. “You work so hard, Hoseok, to provide the best care to your clients. You are always reading up on the latest in your field. You go to conferences and talk to specialists and peers. You are kind and open and professional. You are, in sum, a first class aromatherapist. And Jimin is a great massage therapist. Namjoon hires the best and he treats you well, so you stay.”
“So?”
“So, is it out of the realm of possibilities that a grateful client made it possible for Namjoon to recognize his staff the way he wants to?”
Hoseok’s eyes went round. “YOONGI?!”
Yoongi shook his head. “I’m not saying anything more. And if you say anything, or even hint at it, I will be very angry with you.”
Hoseok pinched his lips together, then nodded. “Okay.” The tension from his face drained.
“You really are amazing, Yoongi.”
Yoongi shrugged and moved Hoseok’s feet off his lap. “I’m going to make dinner. I need to use those mushrooms.” He got up.
“Yoongi?”
“Mm?”
“For Christmas, can I give you a full spa treatment?”
Yoongi turned slightly pink and gave a small smile. “That would be nice.”
