Title: 'The Watchathon'
Fandom: Friends
Characters: Joey Tribbiani, Monica Geller, Ross Geller, Rachel Greene, Phoebe Buffay, Chandler Bing
Rating: G
Monica was just putting the finishing touches on some snacks when the others crowded in.
"Are we all set for our 'A Christmas Carol' watchathon," she asked them, as she helped with the removal of various coats and scarves.
Ross grinned, snatching a gingerbread cookie from a nearby tray. "I'll say we are," he replied, waving a movie-rental bag. "I've got the version with Reginald Owen."
"And I snagged the last copy of the Albert Finney musical," Rachel piped up. She glanced Chandler's way. "What about you?"
He held up a copy of 'The Muppet Christmas Carol'. "Plenty of comedy, with just enough Christmas spirit."
Monica giggled. "You would think of that one. How about you, Pheebs?"
"I had to look really hard," Phoebe answered, "but I managed to find 'Mickey's Christmas Carol'. You know, the one with Scrooge McDuck?" She shrugged. "It's short but sweet."
It was only now that the glum, confused look on Joey's face was spotted by all and sundry.
Chandler nudged him. "What's the matter, Joe? Couldn't you find anything?"
Joey groaned. "I didn't know there was a movie! Why didn't you guys tell me?"
"What did you get," Ross asked him, feeling an odd dread creeping over him.
"This!" Joey pulled out a bag of CDs featuring various Christmas tunes. He gazed at the quintet worriedly. "Is this not gonna be okay?"
Monica patted him on the back reassuringly. "It's fine. Now we've got a soundtrack while I make fudge tomorrow!"
