The children fled in a stampede.
Holmes smiled at the softly snoring bundle of white fur underneath the Christmas tree. “I hope he appreciates how you bargained for him.”
“He has been a good boy all morning. I think he deserves a nap. Are you coming with us?”
“Haven’t I been a good boy all morning, too?”
