Clark ducked his head, his handsome, tanned face coloring as brightly as Lex's tie. Lex glanced at him, fully aware of both his boyfriend's feelings and the fact that everybody on the busy street was daring to stare at them. He could have easily bought them all, and not just them but their families and even their ancestors. But that would not have assuaged the way their blatant stares had his precious Clark feeling at the moment.
He stopped so abruptly that Clark looked at him with worry. "Lex, what's wrong?" he asked and, in that moment, in that sorrowful, sheepish expression drawing his face downwards, Lex knew Clark fully expected him to pull away from him. He was a social media darling after all, his image so very important -- but unlike his father, the media was never going to stop Lex Luthor from doing exactly what he wanted to do when he wanted, and especially with whom he wanted.
"You look cold," Lex murmured, unwrapping his scarf. Before Clark could argue, he wrapped the other end of his scarf around him and pulled him close to him. "This should warm you." He kissed him before the world, before a flurry of not just snow but snapping cameras and cell phones. In seconds, their image, and the image of multibillionaire Lex Luthor kissing a shy, supposedly naive farm boy from Kansas, would be all over the world.
He was out of the closet right here, right now. Every one in LuthorCorp, all the townsfolk in Smallville, and most people across the globe were about to be shocked and angry. His father especially would be furious. Lex grinned and deepened their kiss, his arms wrapping around the strong yet gentle man he loved. He couldn't think of a better Christmas present!
