Kabisa was so nice and serene. All was well as we gazed at the Christmas trees. They were all a bright, snowy white. Ball-shaped ornaments dangled from every branch.
It was so lovely--
--until the ornaments burst to life, turning out to be a swarm of multicolored bats that fled into the night as the Doctor and I ducked to let them pass.
"Ah. My mistake," he sheepishly announced. "I forgot. Kabisa is a bat sanctuary. The planet I'd meant to take you to was Kabisu."
"You're one hundred percent certain of that," I asked him pointedly. After all, it wasn't exactly the first time he'd steered us wrong.
He grinned a bit. "Perhaps not one hundred percent..."
