Chandler was in the middle of detangling Christmas lights when the thought came to him. "Hey, Mon?"
Coming over with a fresh tray of warm cookies for them to snack on, Monica set to work organizing ornaments. "Yeah, sweetie?"
He frowned a little. "You don't expect us to make our Christmas presents this year, do you?"
"No. Why do you ask?"
"No reason," he fibbed for a moment, taking one of the cookies. As was typical of Monica, it was a perfectly iced sugar cookie, with not a drip of royal icing out of place. He nibbled pensively. "It's just that...well, our late Valentine's Day was sort of a disaster this year; we were supposed to make the presents, but we didn't make the presents..."
Monica grinned, waving it away. "Don't worry about it. I don't expect you to make me a Christmas present, and I wasn't planning to make one for you. We did both lose track of time and forget about it. You could make me a nice present for Hanukkah, though."
Chandler blinked, confused. "But I'm not Jewish; I don't celebrate Hanukkah."
Bright blue eyes pierced him with just a hint of amused accusation. "So?"
He thought about it for a second, before nodding. "Oh. Okay. I see what's going on. You get some sort of guilty pleasure out of trying to pay me back for giving you Janice's mix tape, don't you?"
Monica gave him an innocent smirk--if such a thing existed. "Not that guilty," she stated, crunching into a shortbread cookie. "But, if you're feeling guilty, that's okay."
