Title: 'Asparkle'
Fandom: Original Fiction
Characters: Original Character
Rating: G
This is shaping up to be a lovely evening.
I sit beside the window of the cabin I've rented for the winter. Gazing out, I watch as snow falls in pleasant flurries. A cold wind blows, and it seems through the window; but that's nothing that can't be fixed by tightening the sash.
The only light at the moment is from a set of candles that I've set on the windowsill. They lend a faint gold gleam to the room, and set the frost that covers the windowpanes asparkle. The frost looks like dozens of impossibly tiny diamonds, each reflecting that candlelight so prettily.
Outside, the last glimmers of daylight that have managed to peep through the cloud cover are giving way to a deep blue twilight. Everything is still and silent and beautiful. Smiling, I trace patterns in the frost, enjoying the feel of that mild and chilly crust beneath my fingertips.
Everything is so peaceful; I wish I could stay in this moment forever.
