Title: 'The Best Part Of Christmastime'

Just a few days before Christmas, and it's all winding down. My halls are decked, my stockings are hung, and my shopping is done. Now I can relax, and bask in the satisfaction of knowing that it's going to be another wonderful holiday season.
I curl up in my armchair, a cozy fleece throw draped over me, and settle in with a good book, a novel I've been trying to find the time to read since the season began. But I can't concentrate.
Nearby, the tree twinkles and glimmers, lights aglow, sparkling off of the tinsel. Beneath it, the presents seem to gently tease me. I can already imagine the faces of my loved ones when they open up the things I'm giving them. And I see a few under there, with my own name on the tags.
Anticipation builds in me. Setting my book aside, I climb out of the chair, stretching out on the floor in front of the tree, just like when I was a child. I gaze enraptured at the way the wrapping paper and ribbons gleam, and I carefully shake a few, wondering what might be inside.
One of the best things about Christmastime, for me, is curiosity.
