The Doctor chuckled warmly. "Of course I could have," he told her, his tone ever so slightly smug. "But I thought that this particular present suited you perfectly."
She stared at him, confused. "A stocking filled with coal?! I don't understand. Why would you ever think it suited me?"
"Because you, my dear," he replied, booping her on the nose, "have your name permanently engraved on Santa's 'Naughty' list."
